How many people can be on board?

Is it still possible to sail with Sloepdelen?
Update 25-02-2022: Yes, it's possible to rent our boats in Amsterdam (Elandsgracht or Mauritskade). From March our other locations will open again (and Loosdrecht and Huizen from April).

I have a reservation but I do not want to sail anymore. Can I postpone my reservation?
Yes, you can postpone your reservation for free. Please let us know by email, at least one day before your reservation is set. You will receive a confirmation by email that you can reschedule your reservation to another date (determined later) within 1 year.

Is there a promotion deal?
We have a Super Deal, which lets you sail for 4 hours for less then the regular price of a two hour trip. The deal is only valid on weekdays and not valid on Holidays.

Can I get an invoice of my reservation?
Yes you can. Please, apply for an invoice on this page, and we will send it to you after your trip.

Are there any catering options?
Sloepdelen is not offering any catering options. However, if you wish, you're free to bring your own snacks and drinks without extra charge.

What happens if I return the boat too late?
Please make sure you return the boat on time. This is especially important on busy days! If you return the boat late anyway, the extra time will be deducted from the deposit. If a group scheduled after you is disadvantaged because you are late, you will be charged for the extra time and for the other group’s waiting time.

What is the minimum time for a scheduled trip?
The minimum time for which you can rent a sloop is 2 hours.

In which months can I actually use Sloepdelen’s boats?
You can rent a boat from 1 March until 31 October in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Haarlem, Leiden and Weesp/Vecht. Locations Loosdrecht, The Hague/Rijswijk from 1 April until 1 October.

Do you also rent out boats on King’s Day and during other events?
Yes we do rent out boats on King’s Day and other events! In some cities our rates are different during events. You can book through our reservation system. Only for reservations in Amsterdam you need to send us an email to enquire.

Can I extend my trip while already out on the water?
You will receive an SMS message if there's availability to extend your trip. You can also contact the office while out on the boat, to enquire about the boat's availability. If the boat has not been reserved after your trip, you can extend your trip without a problem. The extra time will be deducted from the deposit.

Are extra booking fees charged?
Amsterdam is the only city where you will pay an extra entertainment fee of € 1.50 per person.

Do I need a boating license to operate a sloop from Sloepdelen?
You don’t need a boating license to be able to operate our sloops. However, you must be 18 or older to operate the boat. Nevertheless, you must obey the rules of navigation!

At which time intervals can I rent a sloop?
You can rent a boat every day from 10:00. Rental locations in Haarlem and Leiden are open till 23:00, Amsterdam and Utrecht until 22:30, Weesp and Loosdrecht close at 21:00. Last departure is 2 hours before closing time.

Where are the Sloepdelen boats located?
We have eight boarding locations, in Amsterdam (two locations), in Utrecht, Leiden, Haarlem, Weesp, Loosdrecht, The Hague/Rijswijk. In Amsterdam West our boats are moored at the Nassaukade 69, directly at the entrance of the new parking garage Marnix, and in Amsterdam East at Mauritskade 3. Utrecht’s boarding location is Geertebolwerk 3. In Leiden you can collect your boat at Boommarkt at number 8 and in Haarlem the boats are moored at Schotersingel 2, next to museum 'Het Dolhuys'. In Loosdrecht you can find us at the Oud-loosdrechtsedijk 253 next to a beautiful lake and in Weesp you can locate us at restaurant Thai Faa Faet, on Dammerweg 6a. In The Hague / Rijswijk you can find our boats at Nijverheidsstraat 32.

Are we allowed to play music on the boat?
The authorities do not allow amplified audio on the water in the cities. Acoustic music is no problem, so you can safely play your guitar or sing a song.

Can i bring along my pet on board?
This is no problem, as long as you have a well-behaved pet. Furthermore, you are responsible for the actions and possible damages done by your pet.

Is it difficult to steer the boat?
It is not difficult at all to steer a boat. You set the speed with the black joystick and determine the direction with the tiller.

How long does the boat’s battery hold its charge?
You can use the boat all day with a full battery (for at least 14 hours).

Am I allowed to moor in the city?
The boat's lines have been shortened, so they can’t end up in the propeller. Therefore you cannot simply moor anywhere. You won’t have any problems at some mooring berths at terraces. However, it is important that you always keep an eye on the boat. For example, do not moor to trees.

What can I do if the boat loses speed?
If your boat loses speed something has likely got caught in the propeller. You can usually solve this yourself by putting the boat in full reverse for 10 seconds, then move forward for 10 seconds, and repeat this 3 times. No success? In that case call the office on +31 20 41 91 007.

How many people are allowed in one boat?
Our boats are CE certified to hold 12 people.
Membership

How does the payment work?
We will direct debit the membership fee for the renewal around the 20th, either monthly or yearly. In the beginning of the month, we will send you an invoice for your reservations of last month. We will set a direct debit within a few days.

What is the cancellation notice period?
The notice period is equal to the payment period of your membership. Do you pay a monthly membership fee? Then your notice period is one calendar month (with a minimum duration of 3 paid membership months). Do you have a yearly paid membership? Your notice period is also one calendar month before your renewal date. Intermediate cancellation with a refund of paid fees is not possible. After your membership is terminated, you will receive your deposit back (when there are no open invoices). You can cancel your membership here.

Can I share my membership with someone else?
The membership is on one person’s name only, and he / she is also responsible for attributable cases of loss, damage or injury. Keeping this in mind, this person determines who uses his / her access code.

Can I become a member at any time?
You can join any time. If you join before the 15th of the month, you pay for the entire month. If you join after the 15th of the month, you only pay the next month.

What is the minimum age to become a member?
The minimum age for becoming a member of Sloepdelen is 18.

How much does a Sloepdelen membership cost?
This depends on the type of membership. The monthly membership costs € 27,50 per month (to be paid from March up and until October), and the yearly membership costs € 200 per year. Members also pay a deposit at the start of the contract. This deposit is refunded when the membership is cancelled.
