The lake closest to Leiden is &#8216;het Joppe&#8217; and is only 45 minutes from our dock.<\/h3>\n<p>In contrary to the other lakes within the area of the Kagerplassen, het Joppe is not a naturally originated lake, for it was excavated in the 70&#8217;s to supply Leiden with sand.. This is also why it is much deeper than the other lakes (till 40 meters). Furthermore the conditions on het Joppe are ideal for all aquatics disciplines and during the summer you will see a lot of activity on the lake.<\/p>\n<p>If you rent your boat for a little longer it is definitely worth mooring at one of the restaurant at het Joppe and enjoying a bite and a drink.
